About Us

Sandbox is a brand new type of workspace created specifically for Bay Area freelancers and other self-employed professionals like writers, marketers, engineers, makers, designers, and all independents. We understand that while working for yourself can be liberating and satisfying, without the right facility, it can also be unproductive and lonely. We know from experience that it is hard to keep a professional profile when working from your couch. That is why we created Sandbox, a place that fits both the meticulous businessman and the freedom-loving entrepreneur.

With its open-plan 4500 sq. ft. facility located right in downtown, Sandbox allows independent professionals to have an organized desk space, make phone calls, meet with clients, and receive packages to an address that doesn't include an apartment number. Sandbox offers several levels of memberships that range from daytime drop-ins to full-time, 24/hr access memberships. You can fill out the membership application here.

Co-working?

For those who feel lonely as entrepreneurs and need a non-traditional community-style office space away from their homes, Sandbox can be a great place to meet similar-minded independents from other fields. We call that co-working.

As a co-working space, we will develop a collaborative atmosphere for our members by hosting networking events, talks by guest speakers, and outings. By joining Sandbox, freelancers and entrepreneurs would not only resolve their basic need for a place to park a laptop, but also gain from the added benefit of a community.
