Here at Sandbox Suites, we know that November is crazy busy (seems like only yesterday that we dressed up for our Spooky Startups Halloween Bash, and in just a few weeks we’ll be googling “How to Cook a Turkey” in preparation for Thanksgiving) but there are a few awesome business events in Berkeley this month that you should be sure to take advantage of.
1. Cal Entrepreneurship Expo
What: This event, sponsored by Sigma Eta Pia, UC Berkeley’s first entrepreneurship fraternity, will provide individuals with the tools and resources to turn their ideas into a reality. By walking attendees through the entrepreneurial business process, from budding start-ups to incubators, the Cal Entrepreneurship Expo creates a a hub for entrepreneurs to meet, network, and learn.
When: Thursday, November 17th. 6pm-10pm.

2. Marketing for Early Stage Startups
What: In this session, marketing veteran Patrick Crane will discuss the critical importance of marketing in building a successful startup. Crane, who has led marketing efforts at companies such as LinkedIn, Yahoo!, and Vodaphone, will talk about how companies can better understand their own identity, market their brand, connect with customers, leverage word of mouth, and utilize testing to grow and measure their impact.
When: Thursday, November 17th. Food and networking at 6:30pm, presentation at 7pm.

3. Business Networking at Pyramid Alehouse in Berkeley
What: This business networking event at Pyramid Alehouse in Berkeley is always a smash hit. Join the Emeryville Chamber of commerce for an evening of fun, new business contacts, raffle prizes, great food and of course, great beer.

4. Startup America: Obama Initiatives to Help Entrepreneurs
What: Want to find out what the Obama Administration is doing to support entrepreneurs? Find out at this talk by Elizabeth Echols, Obama’s Small Business Administration director for the Western and Pacific Region. At this event, Echols will discuss how the Obama Administration plans to free up capital for small businesses and jump-start job growth.
When: Friday, November 18th, 12:30 pm
Where: Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse, Downtown Berkeley
